Afak Town, is one of Diwaniya province's towns. It has many good places for truism like the ancients places (Nippur, Isin, Drehim Hill ..etc.), nature e.g. Dalmaj marsh (lake), Nuffar forests, palm forests ..etc.

The city of Nippur (Sumerian Nibru, Akkadian Nibbur) (now it is in Afak town, Al Qadisyah Governorate) was one of the most ancient (some historians date it back to 5262 B.C. [1][2]) of all the Babylonian cities of which we have any knowledge, the special seat of the worship of the Sumerian god, Enlil, ruler of the cosmos subject to An alone. Indeed, in Sumerian cuneiform, the signs that read 'Nibru' and 'Enlil' are the same.
