The structure of the municipality of Farroupilha began to take shape almost immediately to the installation of the first families of immigrants in New Milano. According to historical data, between 1885 and 1886, in Cologne Sertorina, which was partly within the current territory farroupilhense, between Line Palmeiro (Bento Gonçalves) and the 1 st and 2 nd Léguas (Caxias) Feijó Junior, owner of the land, installed a community inhabited by Italian immigrants, and Trentini trevisanos.
The place where the neighborhood is currently New Vicenza, took the name of Vicenza line, and later in New Vicenza, parish of St. Vincent. The first residents were Italian immigrants already settlers in Cologne Conde D'I. Sensing the potential for development of the new community, those who had sold the immigrants and settled in the new area.
